"Former hoop standout in benefit bike ride"

That's according to my hometown newspaper, the Bangor Daily News. Andrew Neff, a sports writer there, used to interview me after high school basketball games. He also knows my mom through some connection at work (he brings his mother's cat into the veterinary clinic where she works, or something like that). Anyway, he called and asked me some questions about Bike and Build back in January. Because the high school basketball tournament is such a big deal (for good reason!) up in Maine, my article got pushed back a few months. No complaints from me. Check out the article here.

Point number two of this very important post: results from the Uno's Fundraiser.
Total Sales: $722.16
Total Uno's Donation to Bike and Build: $108.32
Thanks again to everyone who came out to stuff themselves silly with pizza (and wash it down with some tasty cold beverages).

$4,000

Gracias! Merci! Grazie! Danke! Meitaki ma'ata! Takk! Multumesc!

That's "thank you" in a bunch of different languages. I've said it so much lately I thought I'd try to be creative and say it in a different way. I just can't say it enough...we hit the $4,000 mark this week and donations are still strong (see the Fundraising Progress page). The response has been incredible.

There are still two potential fundraiser events in the works:

(1) A late-April/early-May 3-on-3 basketball tournament held at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in Cambridge, MA. I am in the midst of planning this with Rhiannon Lee of the Women With Game league here in Cambridge.

(2) An art-gallery event potentially held at the Art Interactive Gallery in Central Square in collaboration with Rob Logan of the famous Redbones Art Card Event in Davis Square, Somerville, MA.

Keep checking back for more details on those two events!

Uno's Dos

A second thank you going out to all who attended my second fundraiser at Uno's on Friday. We had a great turnout, largely due to the incredible support of the Couch Surfing community. Other friends, friends of friends, people off the street (not kidding), and family also made it out -- thank you all! I'll keep you posted when I find out how much was raised in total.
